W. GEOFFREY JEWETT President


Mr. Jewett has worked for top echelon organizations in the real estate investment industry for over 30 years.  His extensive and in-depth expertise includes acquisitions, development, asset, portfolio and property management, finance and dispositions in the multifamily, parking, office, extended stay hotel and industrial categories.

  

Prior to forming REvest Inc. in 2009, Mr. Jewett served nine years at BlackRock Realty Advisors, most recently as Director and Portfolio Manager for two high-risk separate account funds: BlackRock Cal I (a value-add and development multifamily fund between BlackRock and California State Teachers’ Retirement System which consisted of 30 properties and $2.1 billion in Gross Asset Value), and the Community Development Fund (a multifamily fund between BlackRock and Community Investments, the equity investment arm of Fannie Mae). Mr. Jewett managed the formation and development of this fund, which consisted of ten multifamily rental (new development and renovation) and four condominium (new development and conversion) properties totaling $550 million in Gross Asset Value.


Prior to becoming Portfolio Manager, Mr. Jewett was Co-President of the Metric Property Management division of SSR Realty Advisors (acquired by BlackRock), which entailed property management oversight responsibility for 30 properties totaling 9,000 units and 200 employees.


Mr. Jewett began his career with LaSalle Partners (now Jones Lang LaSalle) working for both their Acquisitions and Property Finance Groups.  During his 12 year tenure at LaSalle, he managed the execution of multiple sales and financings of institutional office and industrial properties totaling over $225 million.

  

Afterward, he worked for Security Capital Group, in Santa Fe, New Mexico for five years.  As Vice President of Acquisitions for Security Capital Atlantic and Pacific Trusts, he managed the acquisition of 12 multifamily properties, totaling in excess of $140 million, in eight different markets.  Subsequent responsibilities included asset management of 45 multifamily properties throughout the Southwest and Pacific Northwest and then the development, implementation and documentation of the operating system for Homestead Village including the marketing, staffing, compensation, FF&E and security programs for the extended stay hotel company.


Mr. Jewett also has extensive experience in the acquisition, financing and management of parking properties, having acquired 11 parking properties totaling over $100 million in nine U.S. markets, both as Founder/CEO of a private venture, and as Senior Vice President; Acquisitions & Investments, for First Union Real Estate & Mortgage Investments (a stapled-stock REIT) in Cleveland, Ohio.


Mr. Jewett has an MBA from the University of Denver, and a BS in Mathematics from Denison University, where he was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American team.  In addition, he served three years in the Medical Service Corps of the United States Air Force.  A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he and his wife Ann have three children and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
